Paul Hughes is a graduate of LSU Law School, where he was awarded the Order of the Coif for his distinguished academic record and wrote for the Law Review.

After serving as Law Clerk to the Chief Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court, he practiced with a major New Orleans law firm before moving to the North Shore.

His wide and varied experience in the law includes civil defense litigation of all kinds, including major environmental, toxic tort, and business litigation; representation of banks, investors, and businesses in large real estate and financial transactions; and cases with environmental agencies. He is past Chairman of the Environmental Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association.
